I'm not sure what's different with the paid version, but even if you have to pay, I think it's probably worth it. If you love Half-Life 1 and want to relive that glory, definitely play it. If you played HL1 too much, this is fresh enough for a replay. If you never played Half-Life 1, also play it.

WebOne thing I really disliked about Black Mesa was the intuitiveness of the level design. I played through the original HL about 3 times back in the day and had no problems navigating at all. I played Black Mesa this year and there were multiple moments where I was just plain lost or had no idea what to do.
