WebThe U.K. Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC) is a new initiative that will allow U.K. citizens and residents to obtain healthcare at a reduced cost or even for free after Brexit, replacing the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), which provided the same benefits to U.K. citizens and residents when the country was a member of the European Union. WebUK nationals applying for a new or replacement Ehic on the NHS website will now receive the Ghic instead. That said, the following can still apply for and continue to use a new Ehic in the EU, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Switzerland: UK students studying in the EU (who can apply for a ‘student Ehic’)
